SATURDAY, MAY 18TH * JUNE 2013. CBBlues Network celebrated the spirit of celtic roots music with Irish Des and the Shamrockers. The evening started with a roasting round of roots tunes as Des laid out the licks on his guitar. Alvaro and Barrie were keeping the Celtic beat in the background. We had a good sing-a-long and a dance or two.

Later in the evening, Tom Poole slid into a slide guitar blues session and was spontaneously joined by Alvero on drums. It didn't take long before Des and Barrie joined Tom for a blues jam extraordinaire!!

LOS JAM.ONES * ENTERTAINMENT TO THE MAX WITH BLUES, REGGAE & OLD TIME ROCK N ROLL

LOS JAM.ONES * 11 MAY 2013 * The CCBlues Network Social was in full gear on Saturday night with the super group hailing from Oliva - Los Jam.ones.

Wow, what a show!!

Musical host - Tom Poole, warmed up the house with his early roots blues tunes accompanied by his trademark bottleneck slide guitar style.

There is no other musician on the coast who compare to Tom's musical characteristics. He is an old soul.

We were absolutely shocked down to our socks by the Jam.ones. These musicians were so hot!! They were tight as a band. Their change-ups were in perfect timing. Their pitch, tempo and harmonies were just fabulous.

To the blues, they added their own style  with extra inflections and vocal noises. They also gave the crowd a thrill by doing entertaining tricks on the drums and bass guitar. The lead guitarists were smokin!

To the reggae tunes, the Jam.ones once again showed us all the power of their performance skills and the natural feel that they have for the rhythms of reggae. However, they made the reggae standards their own by tuning the tempo up and making each song more fun!

To drive us all crazy, the Jam.ones gave their best on the early blues meets old-time rock and roll tunes, which once again, they added their own personal grooves and beats. It was impossible not to get up on the wooden dance floor and move about like a carefree spirit.

I was really impressed with this group, if you cannot tell already. I think we might have a band that could take our network and region into the EUROPEAN BLUES CHALLENGE?

IRISH BLUES PARTY WITH DUELING DOBROS

The Irish Blues Party was a unique and surprising mix of blues and Irish music with a few extra twists and turns.

Special guest "Irish" Des McGullycuddy delivered a stellar performance and charmed the house with his cool slide guitar stylings and mellow crooner vocals. While Tom Poole was more edgy on his dobro adding his rootsy n bluesy vocals, which offered a dynamic contrast. It turned into a match made in groovy heaven!

Once again we had a nice crowd with some local celebrities showing their support. Literary and television screenplay writer Harry Duffin was there with his literary wife Chris Duffin. Novelist Lesley Sharrock was spotting dancing up a storm and so was local entrepreneurs Millie Munro and Sue Coley.

Thank you's go out to Barry Hadley on bass and Natiel on drums. These cats really kept up their end of the rhythm  section.

All in all, the collaboration was smoking hot and exciting!! I have never heard anything like this pairing on this coast or any coast - before!!
