Another great CBBlues party took place on Friday, 10th January at Platino's on the Javea Beach. Our entertainer for this lunchtime matinee, which has become our trademark event, was the veteran bluesman - TOM POOLE.

Tom's friendly, flawless and fabulous guitar style was the perfect antidote to a somewhat cloudy and foggy day.

Tom has been in the music business for many a moon, but he is now going to wing it solo and we were totally behind this decision 100%.

Tom had his slide guitar pumping out traditional blues standards with a gutsy yet rooty twang. Tom's vocal style is unique and expression-filled. Plus - Tom is a super nice and genuine person and the crowd warmed to him like butter on toast. Between sets, he circulated the room and exchanged handshakes and conversations with everyone.

I was so pleased to see new faces at our CBBlues afternoons. Everyone was really wonderful and supportive of this publishing and events project - dedicated to the blues.

One of our regulars, local author Lesley Sharrock, was having a birthday so Debbie of Platino's presented her with a lovely cheese cake, which was shared with everyone.

Another surprise was when a German tourist asked to play Tom's custom-made guitar and entertained us with his amazing blues riffs.

Tom gave us a few extra songs that pushed us over our normal 4pm roundup, but everyone stayed right to the very end and promised to return to our next event and join the webzine too. It was a magical win-win kind of day!
