- Review by Phil Arcman for CBBlues.com
The recording features 18 year old Italian/Spanish blues sensation Javier Hernández who plays guitar like a young Buddy Guy.
Sit up and take notice. This kid has the chops.
No, it’s not quite the mature Buddy Guy guitar and the voice does not yet have the husky adult blues character, but it is happening sound.
These are early days. In five years this kid could easily become Spain’s greatest blues guitar player.

and American blues legend - Paul Orta
The CD has eight tracks showcasing several blues styles and features several Valencian talents, including stars Danny Boy Sanchez, Spain’s premier blues harpman and Naira Rodrigo who has a fabulous voice in operatic, broadway and Blues styles.
The fact that these great artists are contributing to the CD is a clue to this kid’s musical skill. These people think he is worthy and so will you.
The choice of songs provides some insights about life in the USA in the formative years of blues. These are stories about the challenges for the black man in 20’s and 30’s USA. Hardships such as migration to find work, getting high on canned heat (camping fuel) as a substitute for alcohol, and social rejection are featured.
This is nascent talent that requires encouragement and support. Go to a live show or pick up the CD. Then you can say you knew him "when".
