The Costa Blanca Blues Social Network ( wraps up its 2014-2015 season with a big BBQ & BLUES BASH at the newly reopened Laguna Ribs in Javea’s beach zone. The musical host will be blues harmonica great – “Buddy Paul” from Valencia and the visiting band are the“The Dirty Dog Blues Band” from the UK.

They have  just had the honour of being the support band to the visiting American blues boogie keyboard legend  - Gene Taylor, while on tour in Valencia city.

What a spectacular year for blues music fans on the Costa Blanca as they were treated to a magnificent showcase of some of Spain’s finest blues music performers.  It has been a season of “mojo” magic as top named big city entertainers were brought to the Costa Blanca to perform in intimate party rooms and private villas from Teulada to Benitachell to Javea.

CBBlues events and website are operative by one of the Costa Blanca’s biggest blues music aficionada’s – Karla Darocas who is a true  impresaria could not travel to the major centers, so she started to bring the blues to her and many are happy that she did.

“It has been an amazing year!! Over 30 top notch professional blues performers have come through the social parties and integrating and having fun with our mostly English speaking blues fans!, “ explains Karla who aims to put the Costa Blanca on the blues music map. Her website attracts over 200 visitors per day, on average.
“The website has become a guiding light for blues fans both living on the Costa as well as visiting,” she announces.
Mid-season CBBlues music director – Tom Poole – took ill and had to resign but it was only a matter of a week or so that a new music director came on the scene.

“Buddy Paul Tidiman is not only a monster blues harmonica performer, but he has given us fans 110% of his efforts to make sure that we have the best blues performers possible for our social party events,” Karla says with a big grin.

Another triumph of the year is the growth of CBBlues local talent event - a monthly CrossRoads coffee morning  whereby amateur and professional musicians mix and mingle with poets, dancers, visual artists, writers, songwriters, and just artists folks in general and share their talents in a real 60’s style coffee house fashion. Then guests and participants are welcome to share a community style lunch and network.

“The CrossRoads events have really been a happy surprise as people with all types of talents “come out of the closet” – so to speak - and feel safe within a collective of friends to share their passions,” explains Karla.

Plus a new addition to the website, which already includes blues music interviews, reviews, MP3’s, videos and more – is a new section called GOOD EATS.  Restaurant reviewer John Le Sueur gives readers his insights on good eating on the Costa Blanca and beyond.

CBBlues events are for CBBlues  Subscribers, but if you are a blues music fan, you can join the network for free and then you will get invitations to all the events!
