The CBBlues Saturday Morning Open-Mic Coffee House Event - namely CROSSROADS moved over to Javea beach area - and here is what happened!
January 2016 saw the genesis of a new location for the monthly gathering of the CrossRoaders as they found their way to the friendly pub in Javea called Quo Vadis.
The air was chilly but the sun was shining and the entertainment room at Quo Vadis was full of light and love.
Mostly all of the regular CrossRoaders where in attendance, except a few with the flu - and they were better off in bed. But, I have to say that they truely missed a ripping great time!!
We had some visitors who added offered up some of their talents. One was a kicking great guitarist who knew his way around a delta blues classic. He was more than happy to accompany some of the less seasoned players and help to make them shine. (I had made some videos of these great performances but somehow the microphone accidentally got turned off - so I have great videos with no music. pfffttt!!)
There was also a fabulous photographer from German in the house and he snapped up a host of fun photos hat captured the spirit of the morning. (SEE SLIDESHOW BELOW)
One of the CrossRoaders even brought out a cigar box guitar and gave it a spin. That was very special because it was hand made and offered a unique sound. These instruments have fans all over the world.
There was a fine selection of blues and roots musics - even a few rock and roll tunes and a gospel number - that got the gang to their feet to shout Hallelujah!
All in all, the CrossRoads gang have given their word in saying that they want to stay at Quo Vadis for their monthly open-mic mornings. So until further notice, CrossRoads will take place the 2nd Saturday Monthly at 11:00 at Quo Vadis.
